All the witches come out in October!

Over UEA weekend we had a lot of fun. Last year we went down to Gardner Village with the Steed girls, we liked it so much that I am sure it will become a tradition. Over UEA they had all these activities that were geared toward kids. They could paint there nails, faces painted, arts and crafts everywhere. Then there was a witch hay ride. You take a little hay ride with a real witch who teaches you how to cast spells and make witches brew and she has creepy mice and snakes and bugs with her. It is really cut. Then of course tons of shopping to do and there is lots and lots of witches around. Also there is a fun petting zoo and little horse ride. SO as you can see you could have hours an hours of fun together.

After the festivities Lisa, Daryn, Kelsey and I headed to PF Changs. That was yummy. Believe it or not we went straight from Gardner Village to down town salt lake. No detours like perhaps kenacot or anything like that, we did have garmin with us this time. Ha Ha! We had a good time.

Then the next night of UEA we took our kids to fright mares at Lagoon and lets talk about crowded. The place was packed and when we got there Tom tried to talk the kids into going to the zoo or to Build a Bear workshop anything but Lagoon. He told them the lines would be long and they would have to wait a long time and not get to ride much but they had made up there minds and Lagoon it was. So we were off and it was really crowded and the lines were long but we still had a really good time and the kids did great. They all love to ride all the rides. Derek wished he was tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides maybe next year. When it started getting dark and the men with masks and chain saws were coming out we decided it was time to take our little ones home and they were just fine with that.

Then a couple days later. My sisters, Mom, grandma and about 12 other girl cousins and I went back to Gardner Village for WItchaPalopooza. It is a Dinner and a Show where you get to sing and dance and enjoy some good clean entertainment, and have dinner. We have done this for the past 4 years and have a really good night out. It is always fun to laugh and have fun with Family. I Love you guys.

SOCCER SOCCER SOCCER

The fall season of soccer ended mid October. Kelsey and Derek did so well. Both them and there teams did well and improved so much from the beginning of the season to the end. Kelsey's team name is The Melon Rangers and they are a bunch of cute girls and we had a lot of fun together. They are all first graders except one second grader on our team and we were kicking butt at the end of the season there were little who could intimidate my little team. They play with a lot of heart. Two games at the end of the season it was really rainy and in fact one of the weeks we were the only game going on at the time because it was coming down and we had three of our girls show up we needed two more but we settled for one more, Derek. The other team had 6 players and we won. They had so much fun playing in the rain and Derek did really well playing defense for the Melon Rangers. He thought he was really cool too.

Derek's team was the Strikers and they were awesome. Derek played so well for his first season he is very defensive minded. When all the kids would bunch up you wouldn't find Derek in there he would patiently be waiting for the ball to bounce out so that he could get it. It took him a couple of gamed to figure out that you can not just chase the person with the ball you actually have to kick it so they will not score a goal and once he figured that out he could stop just about anyone. He took such great pride in himself when he would have a good game. Tom was the best coach too. He had some tough boys on the team and he was so patient, had I been the coach I would have been grouchy a lot of Saturday's, just trying to keep them focused for just 45 minutes top. But needless to say Tom loved the boys and the boys loved Tom. What a good lookin bunch.

Well until the spring we shall enjoy this little break of nothing much to do on Saturday's!

10-09-08 Families Are Forever

The wedding was great. Long day but lots and lots of fun. The temple was fabulous, what a neat experience. It was a cold day but that didn't ruin any plans.

After the temple we headed over to The Lion House for the wedding Luncheon and Rebecca and Brett were really really late. They said that they were "taking pictures" The food was fabulous and the kids did a great job considering that they were so very very hungry. Then after the luncheon we headed home to have about 20 minutes to change into our reception outfits and head out for pictures. Our poor Brooke fell asleep on the way home from the temple and was not ready to head out again. So needless to say she was not on her best behavior for pictures. The reception was beautiful. The flowers were amazing, they were done by my incredibly talented sister in law Angie, The food was good and the decor was awesome. Even Colby didn't miss out on the occasion we had a big blown up picture of him and then a little table where people could write a little not e to him. A little weird I know but what can we say we love the little guy and can not wait to have him home again. He comes home in January.

We love you two congrats!

Thanks for such a wonderful day and for setting such a great example to my children.

FAMILIES ARE FOREVER!

Field Trip with Derek

In September Brooke and I were able to go on a field trip with Derek and his pre-school, JellyBean Jungle, to the fire station. It was fun the fireman that talked with the kids and showed us around was really really cute. He took the kids around the fire station and taught them what to do if you were in a fire. They put on all there gear and talked so the kids could see that firemen were not scary and that they shouldn't run and hide from them. Then they also practiced STOP DROP and ROLL. They got to see inside an ambulence and inside a fire truck, and hear the sirens. Then it was really cool they extended the ladder as high as it could go and then one man climbed to the very top. It was great and Derek is still talking about it. It inspired a family night of sounding fire alarms and choosing a meeting place incase of a fire. Derek is soaking up everything right now he is always asking questions over and over again I think just to make sure he has the right answer he is a stud.

Rebecca's Wedding Shower

In September me and all my sisters threw a shower for Rebecca. Natalie had it at her house and we had a really good time. We had pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, veggie tray and apples with a yummy apple dip, my favorite. Then for dessert we had a white cake with cream cheese frosting and a warm raspberry topping it was so good. We always eat good at showers. My family says what good is a shower if you can't eat good. We had a lot of family come and support and it was great because it gave Angie one more excuse to come to Utah. It was fun to have her here. We played a few simple games. We asked Brett questions but not your typical questions we asked him things like who will be in charge of cleaning out your pant pockets before going into the wash? One of Tom and I' biggest arguments. Who will be in charge of dishes?, Family Night? It was very fun and Rebecca found out quickly she was going to be in charge of a lot. One of the funniest answers was when we asked Brett who would be in charge of the maintenance on the car and Brett said I don't know probably Bob. We laughed so hard because we all go to my Dad when anything needs to be fixed. Thanks Dad for being such a great handyman. Then we had 10 bags going around that had some kind of white ingredients in them and everyone had to guess what was in each bag. Sounds easy huh? It is hard especially when you can not taste the stuff. Here are a few pictures so you can get an idea on how much fun we all had.

First Day of School Pictures

Well should we say the first week of school. I got a ton of really cute pictures of all the kids. They were so excited about school starting except poor Brooke doesn't know what to do with her self. Any way I love these pictures.

I like pictures more than words. Besides there is no words to describe all these cute pictures.
